Description of Significance THE RESOURCES WITHIN THE EUFAULA BUSINESS DISTRICT COMPOSE THE CORE OF COMMERCIAL DEVELOPMENT IN DOWNTOWN EUFAULA. THIS AREA SERVED AS THE CENTER OF COMMERCIAL ACTIVITY FOR THIS TOWN AND THE SURROUNDING RURAL AREAS. APPROXIMATELY HALF THE INCLUDED BUILDINGS WERE CONSTRUCTED PRIOR TO 1907, WITH THE MAJORITY OF THE OTHER BUILDINGS BEING COMPLETED PRIOR TO 1916. THE BUILDINGS RANGE IN SIZE FROM ONE TO THREE STORIES AND CONTAINED A VARIETY OF COMMERCIAL BUSINESSES. NOTABLE CONTRIBUTING BUILDINGS INCLUDE THE SORBEE BUILDING, BUILT CA 1898 AND THE FOLEY BANK BUILDING. LISTED IN NATIONAL REGISTER 4/14/1988.
